NASHVILLE, Tenn. – An Arizona man has been arrested after a bag containing 25-pounds of marijuana was confiscated at Nashville International Airport.

According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, airport police officers were called to the scene shortly before 5:30 p.m. Sunday to check a suspicious bag.

A baggage employee noticed it was not tagged and opened the package. At that time, police said he noticed the smell of marijuana and called authorities.

A police dog was later able to determine that the bag was not an explosive device.

Its contents were tested and subsequently came back positive for marijuana.

A phone number belonging to Hannibal el Aziz Muhammad was attached to the package. He was taken into custody once he returned to claim the bag.

Muhammad, of Phoenix, was arrested and charged with felony drug possession. He was held on a $30,000 bond.
